Publishing overhaul adds early tester invites

Roblox has replaced the old publish dialog with a guided flow that spans Creator Hub and Studio. For experiences without age-restricted content, a single question now routes the game to players 16 and older. Creators can invite up to 10 friends or Group members as early testers to preview a build before it goes public. Highly Engaged Player counts in Creator Hub now refresh hourly instead of daily.

Three Studio betas open for testing

File > Beta Features now gates three experimental toolsets:

Package Overrides lets developers edit a package inside a place while still pulling upstream changes from the source package. Studio records each local edit as an override and reapplies it automatically when the source updates.

Upgraded UIShadows expands the UIShadow object with text shadows, knockout shadows, inset shadows, and gradient fills. The beta is labeled "Upgraded UIShadows"; experiences using the new capabilities cannot be published to live servers until the beta ends.

Quality mode for texture generation produces 4K PBR texture sets — color, roughness, and metalness maps — for a more accurate material representation. Access it via Model > Texture, right-click > Generate > Texture, or ask Assistant with /generate_texture while a mesh is selected.

Discovery analytics pipeline updated

Starting October 12, impressions, clicks, and plays originating from Home, Search, and Charts are measured through a new pipeline. Roblox warns creators may see higher impression and play counts alongside a small decrease in play-through rate. Historical data will not be restated and no action is required.

Custom Quick Words and in-experience makeup

Games can now define up to three custom Quick Word categories, each containing three to ten phrases, configured under Creator Hub > Configure > Chat > Quick Words. Submissions undergo review before going live.

Players can also create, purchase, and save custom makeup, eyelashes, and eyebrows from inside an experience. The uncopylocked Roblox Avatar Creator demo showcases the feature. Creators receive a 70% revenue share on purchases after recouping the creation advance.

Avatar item editing and Creator Dashboard organization

Studio now permits updates to already-published 3D accessories and clothing. The asset ID, sales history, and existing owners carry over. Creator Dashboard adds Folders, a Recents view showing the latest 50 uploads, and a category browser that mirrors Marketplace navigation.

US 18+ DevEx rate increase and Age Check API

Paid Access purchases made in Robux by verified 18+ US players now earn the elevated DevEx rate of $0.54 per 100 Earned Robux, up from $0.38 effective September 21. The Age Check API introduces Player:PromptAgeCheck() and the read-only Player.AgeChecked property so creators can request and verify age status.

Device Simulator leaves beta

The Device Simulator toolbar is now generally available. Developers can switch device profiles with the mouse wheel, view resolutions in the dropdown, and disable Network Simulation with a single click.
